Serving Forrest and Perry Counties,

the 12th Circuit Court District of Mississippi is lead by two Judges

The Honorable Robert B. Helfrich

Judge Helfrich was first elected to the Twelfth Circuit Court District for the term beginning January 1, 2003. He previously served as an assistant Public Defender and as an assistant District Attorney for Forrest and Perry Counties.


In 2003, Judge Helfrich established the Forrest/Perry Counties Adult Drug Court Program, which now includes DUI Court and Veterans Court. Bob served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Drug Court Professionals, and he is currently a member of the Drug Court Advisory Committee for the State of Mississippi.


Judge Helfrich is a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He obtained his undergraduate degree from George Mason University and his Juris Doctorate from its School of Law in 1985.

The Honorable Jon Mark Weathers

Judge Weathers was first elected to the Twelfth Circuit Court District for the term beginning on January 4, 2016. He previously served as District Attorney for the Twelfth Circuit Court District (Forrest and Perry Counties, Mississippi) on two separate occasions. 


Judge Weathers previously practiced civil litigation for twenty-six years and served as General Counsel for the University of Southern Mississippi.


Judge Weathers is a graduate of  Pearl River Community College, The University of Southern Mississippi, and The University of Mississippi School of Law. Judge Weathers was admitted to the Practice of Law in December 1972.
